At the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek (40-1, 27KOs) won a twelve round decision over Jason Estrada (16-3, 4KOs). The scores were 115-113, 116-112 and 118-110. Adamek may now face Chris Arreola on April 24 on HBO.

They came out swinging with hard punches in the very first round. Estrada with some good straight punches. Adamek would come right back with combinations to the head and body. Adamek was landing well to the body and coming right back upstairs. They traded punches in the final ten seconds. In the second, Adamek continues to go down and then back up. Estrada was landing some good hooks upstairs but not enough. Estrada at times was able to match Adamek's hand speed by landing a good crisp jab as he came in.

Estrada landed some very good counters in the third round. Adamek was active but getting wild and sloppy at times. Estrada seemed to be timing him well and landing punches to the head and body from different angles. They traded punches again in the final ten seconds. Adamek was still having problems with Estrada's speed in the fourth. Estrada was landing some big punches in the fifth. Adamek was landing back to the head and body. Adamek was throwing back with some good combos to the head and body.

In the seventh, Adamek continued to throw and land the harder punches. Estrada was coming forward and swinging away but this time he was missing a lot of punches. They traded some good punches to close the round.

Estrada wanted a brawl in the eight. Adamek was pressing and landing some good punches to the head and body of Estrada. In the final minute Estrada tried to stick and move to steal the point. Adamek stayed back on his foot and made Estrada come to him. When Estrada would come in, Adamek would fire quick combinations from both hands. Adamek shot a lot of punches to the body.

Adamek was boxing and moving in the tenth round. Estrada was coming forward and the two would trade shots at close range. Adamek was trying to make Estrada come in so he could land something big. Estrada would come in real quick with some shots and then jumped out. The eleventh was close with both fighters having their moments. The twelfth round was another close one. Estrada was pressing and trying to make it ugly. Adamek was moving backwards and landing counters as Estrada came in. In the final minute Adamek continued to stick and move, throwing good punches with both hands. They traded punches to end the fight.
