Tom Farrell retained his fringe belt with a victory over a close friend.
The WBA International super-lightweight champion kept hold of his crown, exclusively live on Sky Sports.
Farrell, who remains undefeated, outpointed Tommy Carus by 97 points to 95, as part of the undercard to Martin Murray’s mouthwatering middleweight matchup against Gabriel Rosado for the vacant WBA Inter-Continental title.
Both fighters gave it everything and each had their own moments of success during the showdown, but it was the classier, more polished work of Farrell which swung referee Mark Lyson as he handed in a scorecard of 97 points to 95.
After the fight, both men congratulated each other on their performances and wished each other well for the future.
Earlier in the card, Steve Brogan and Henry Janes fought to their second draw in four weeks.
The pair first locked horns on March 24 on a Steve Wood-promoted card in Wigan, with the fight scored 57 apiece.
This time, the super-lightweight duo went six rounds once more, only to each have their hands raised after the declaration of a 59-59 scorecard turned in by the referee.
Both fighters want it again and an announcement on fight number three between them is sure to be made in due course.
Ryan Mulcahy admitted that he had undergone his first real test in the paid code after beating Andy Keates.
‘The Monk’, 27, was in the ring, against the Midlands Area champion, for the first time since last December and took the contest, which was over six rounds, by 59 points to 55.
Now, after a brief rest and recuperation period to allow a slight cut to the left eye to heal, he is hoping to push on to fight for the Central Area title against champion Sam Matkin.
And Ged Carroll kicked off the action with a four-round points victory over Josh Thorne.
