At the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, Timur Ibragimov of Uzbekistan scored a ten round stoppage over previously undefeated Gurchuran Singh (20-1, 11KOs) of India in a battle of 1996 Olympians. Other than a brief exchange of punches in the sixth, there wasn't much action until round nine when Ibragimov stunned Singh with a right hand and then followed up with a combination to send him down.
Singh made it to the tenth round. He never fully recovered from the series of punches that hurt him in the ninth. Ibragimov took over and began to land bombs with ease, sending Singh down for the second time in the contest. Singh made it up once again. This time Ibragimov punished him until the referee, Frank Santore, jumped in to stop the fight at 1:45 of the round.
Ibragimov raised his record to 29-2-1 with 16 KOs and won his eight straight since the consecutive losses against Calvin Brock and Tony Thompson.
