At the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, WBC junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (23-0, 11KOs) won a twelve-round unanimous decision over Edner Cherry (24-6-2, 12KOs). The scores were 117-110, 118-109 and 119-109.

Cherry was tougher and put on a better performance than many expected. He took the fight to Bradley for the first five-rounds, when Bradley took over with his great defensive skills and tough body shots. In the eight-round, Bradley used a hard right hand to send Cherry down for the fourth time in his career. He tried to finish him, with Cherry holding and using the clock to get out of trouble.

Bradley would make Cherry miss, and then made him pay for the next few rounds. During the eleventh, Cherry caught Bradley with a big right hand that stunned him, but Bradley did not allow him to follow-up. Cherry tried to come on the final round and Bradley fought him off to hold on.
