George Rose of No Limit Boxing confirmed Tuesday that the winner of Wednesday’s junior middleweight clash between Keith Thurman and Brock Jarvis will fight one of the Tszyu brothers in their next outing. But which brother – Tim or Nikita – will depend on the outcome of the Hordern Pavilion contest in Sydney, Australia.

“We’ve locked in that if Keith Thurman wins this fight he will fight Tim Tszyu in his next fight and if Brock Jarvis wins this fight he will fight Nikita Tszyu in his next fight,” said George Rose of No Limit Boxing while in conversation with Main Event TV.

When asked why Jarvis would be matched with Nikita Tszyu, as opposed to the more highly regarded Tim Tszyu, Rose explained: “They’ve been talking about that fight for a long time. Nikita and Brock, it’s a great matchup, great for Australian boxing… It doesn’t mean that an opportunity isn’t down the line for Brock Jarvis; a big win over Keith Thurman here, [it’s] Nikita next, absolutely.”

Tim Tszyu and Thurman were supposed to fight in March last year, only for the American – whose career in recent years has suffered from incessant in jury problems – was forced to withdraw after tearing a bicep muscle. In turn, Tszyu went on to lose to substitute Sebastian Fundora in a sizeable upset before being stopped by Bakhram Murtazaliev seven months later. He returns against Joseph Spencer on April 6.

On Monday, Thurman said: “I'll just be waiting for the next contract.

“If it happens to have Tim Tszyu’s name on the other side, I'll be happy to sign it. I've already signed a contract against Tim Tszyu once. It was an unfortunate event. We didn't get to make that, maybe this is the year.”
