At the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma, welterweight contender Ashley Theophane (27-4-1, 7 KOs) won a controversial ten round majority decision over Delvin Rodriguez (25-5-2, 14 KOs). The scores were 95-95, 96-94 and 96-94. Most ringside observers saw Rodriguez as the clear winner of the contest.
Super middleweight contender Francisco Sierra (22-3, 21 KOs) won a seven round unanimous technical decision over previously undefeated Donovan George (20-1-1, 17 KOs), who at one time was a red-hot propect before getting into a bit of legal trouble.
Sierra began to put the hurt on George in the very first round. He continued the beating as the fight continued, leaving George battered and bloody by the seventh. During the seventh and final round, Sierra finally dropped him and went for the finish but became a bit too excited and picked up a second knockdown when he hit George after the bell. He was lucky not to get disqualified as George was unable to continue following the shot. The referee took away two points, but Sierra was so far ahead that it didn't even matter. The scores were 68-63, 69-62 and 69-62.
