Another unlicensed boxer has been allowed by Thai promoter Attaporn Tangnusart of VIP Boxing Promotion to fight.
A retired flyweight boxer named Rick Paciones took his third stoppage loss in as many unauthorized bouts in Thailand this year by the Philippine Games and Amusement Board (GAB).
Paciones suffered another second round knockout defeat, this time against unbeaten Bandung Patavikorngym on Sunday in a free-to-public boxing installations at Central Plaza, Rama II in Bangkok.
According to his record from websites, Paciones was stopped in the first round by Kompayak Porpramook in March and clobbered in the second round by Sairung Suwasanil last August 31.
Overall, the over the hill Filipino has loss eight in a row by stoppage since Jovan Presibitero, who is now retired, annihilated him in the second round in May 1999 at Makati Coliseum.
Actually Paciones hasn’t scored a single win since May 1997. GAB refused to renew his license after Rolly Lunas (now known Rolly Matsushita) knocked him out also in the second stanza in December 2000.
In the same Bangkok card, Jesar Ancajas (12-10, 6 KOs), whose fighting weight is super featherweight or lightweight, fought in a 128-pound in schedule 10-rounder for the first time in four years.
Weak and dehydrated, Ancajas was good for only third round against undefeated WBC No. 3 Saenghiran Lookbanyai (20-0, 15 KOs).
GAB gave the 5-foot-9 Ancajas a green light to fight in that weight limit last September 21.
Ancajas fought as heavy as light welterweight in August of last year in Australia where he tipped the scale his career heaviest 143 pounds and upset Australian Adrian Campbell with majority decision over six rounds.
Last Monday, another Filipino Arniel Tinampay has failed in his attempt to win a title. He lost via unanimous decision to World Boxing Council No. 22 lightweight contender Saddam Kietyongyuth (11-0, 7 KOs) with the Thai’s Asian Boxing Council title at stake in Bangkok.
Judges scored the bout 117-111, 117-111, 116-112 all in favor of Saddam, who defended the title for the first time.
Paciones was brought to Thailand by unlicensed matchmaker named alias Victor “Bong” Obero. While Gemmel Contayoso, a Metro Manila-based native of Kidapawan City, matched Ancajas ang Tinampay in Thailand fights.
In Thailand, it is a known practice that local promoters import patsy opponents to patch the records of their prospects and champions.
To mention a few, other retired boxers who let by Thai promoters, such as Naris Singwancha, to fight in Thailand are Lito Gonzaga (who is back in the Philippines) and Bruce Espectacion.
