Terry Flanagan will return to the ring next month.
The WBO lightweight world champion hasn’t fought since July when he made the third defence of his crown against Mzonke Fana.
Flanagan (31-0, 12 KOs) outpointed the South African (38-10, 16 KOs) in a routine 12-round clash at the Ice Arena in Cardiff, Wales, on July 16, exclusively live on BoxNation.
And Boxing Scene has been informed that 27-year-old ‘Turbo’ –– who has been linked with a clash against former four-time world champion Juan Diaz –– is set to make defence number four of the world title on November 26.
It will come in Cardiff again, this time at a different venue, acting as an addition to promoter Frank Warren’s monster card at the Motorpoint Arena, which will again be broadcast on BoxNation.
No opponent has yet been named for Flanagan’s next outing, but his manager Steve Wood has told ‘Scene that the hunt is on for a suitable contender to be in the opposite corner on the night.
Frank Warren’s November 26 card was originally set to happen on October 22 at the same venue, but injuries suffered to two fighters on the card meant that it was postponed until a later date.
And now with the addition of Flanagan, the bill will boast 13 fights, including another world title fight and three other title showdowns.
Billy Joe Saunders will make the first defence of his WBO middleweight world title against number seven-rated Artur Akavov of Russia over 12 rounds and Liam Williams will defend his British super-welterweight belt against rising Dulwich man Ahmet Patterson.
Tom Stalker and Craig Evans do battle for a third time with the former’s WBO European lightweight belt at stake, while Tommy Langford and Sam Sheedy clash for the vacant British middleweight title, which was relinquished by Chris Eubank Jr.
Meanwhile, Jamie Cox is set to appear alongside Paul Butler and Lyon Woodstock, the trio who all fight this weekend in Bolton, and there is action for Chris Jenkins, Alex Hughes and Jay Harris.
