Currently Terence Crawford is doing missionary work with his church in Africa. Soon, he'll return and get back to his day job as a boxer. The standout, who just moved up to the junior welterweight class by stopping Thomas Dulorme on April 18th, is slated to return on November 7th according to his manager Cameron Dunkin.
Which means that it looks like he'll only be in the ring twice in 2015, which doesn't satisfy Dunkin.
''We've got to find a third fight. We really need four fights and we need to push and figure out a way to keep him in the ring four times a year - but a minimum of three times this year and then figure out to get him on four times from now on," said the manager, who is prodding their promoter, Top Rank, to make this happen.
Crawford, who is 27, fought three times in both 2013 and 2014. Last year was a breakout year for him as he captured 'Fighter of the Year' honors from various publications after defeating the trio of Ricky Burns for the WBO lightweight title, Yuriorkis Gamboa and Ray Beltran.
"He's in the prime of his career, he's getting better every fight," Dunkin said of his fighter, who has a record of 26-0 (18 KO's). "He doesn't need to lay off six, seven, eight months at a time. It's ridiculous."
Crawford's next outing will most likely be another hometown performance in Omaha, Nebraska.
