According to Cameron Dunkin, who manages WBO super lightweight belt-holder Terence Crawford (28-0, 20KOs), his fighter has committed to a fight against WBC titlist Viktor Postol (28-0, 12KOs) on July 23rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Crawford was last in the ring back in January with a fifth round stoppage of Hank Lundy at The Theater in Madison Square Garden. Postol knocked out Lucas Matthysse last October at the StubHub in Carson to capture the vacant WBC belt.
''I think we're all ready to go. I don't know where Postol stands but my guy is ready to go," Dunkin told BoxingScene.com on Friday night.
"We're going to get everything signed but (Terence) has a verbal commitment, a handshake. We were at the MGM tonighyt and he said,'Let's go,' he said we have a fight,"continued Dunkin, who had met with his client several times throughout the week in Las Vegas.
A source at Top Rank said that a few details still had to be worked out with Postol. Crawford-Postol will be distributed by HBO Pay-Per-View.
