Patrick Teixeira remained unbeaten, forcing the normally durable Don Mouton into submission inside of seven rounds Friday evening at Belasco Theatre in downtown Los Angeles, California.

An accumulation of punches forced referee Raul Caiz Jr. to rescue Mouton from further punishment.

Teixeira showed that he can box as well as slug, with boxing on full display early in the bout. Mouton struggled to keep up, with his night only getting worse as his right eye began to swell shut.

Through five lopsided rounds of one-way action, Mouton was told by the referee and ringside physician that he would be given one more round to show he had something left.

He showed it, and Teixeira wasn't quite prepared for the moment. A sweeping left hook midway through round six had the unbeaten southpaw briefly shook, but quickly recovered and regained control of the fight.

It was Mouton's last moment in the sun. A hailstorm of power punches rained down as the nearly-blinded veteran could no longer defend against the incoming, prompting Caiz Jr. to step in and stop the onslaught.

The official time was 1:31 of round seven.

Teixeira advances to 26-0 (22KOs) with the win, marking just the fifth stateside appearance for the rising prospect from Brazil.

The bout aired live on Estrella TV in the United States and Mexico, and was - along with select undercard bouts - also streamed live on Yip TV

Zachary Ochoa delivered perhaps his most complete performance to date, scoring a third round knockout of veteran trialhorse Alejandro Rodriguez in their super lightweight bout.

Ochoa started out patient before picking up the pace in round two. The first knockdown of the fight came late in the round, with a right and left combo dropping Rodriguez for an eight count. Rodriguez was decked again just at the bell, but dodged a second knockdown called against him when the referee ruled it a slip.

The call in the ring hardly mattered to Ochoa, who sensed his opponent was hurt and was intent on closing the show. The unbeaten Brooklyn native raced across the ring at the start of round three, dropping Rodriguez mere seconds in and following up with a third and final knockdown as referee Zac Young stopped the onslaught.

The official time was 0:22 of round three. Ochoa (13-0, 6KOs) picks up his fourth win of 2015.

Antonio Gutierrez had little difficulty in getting past Victor Fonseca in the opening bout of the Estrella TV portion of the telecast. Scores were 60-54 and 59-55 (twice) in favor of Gutierrez (19-1-1, 8KOs), who was simply the busier fighter over the course of the six-round affair. Fonseca (9-7-1, 7KOs) has now lost four straight and six of his last nine starts.

Francisco Ochoa scored his quickest win to date, vanquishing Edgar Galvez inside of a round. A body shot was enough to put Galvez (0-2) down for the count at 2:29 of round one. The 23-year old Ochoa (3-0, 2KOs) turned pro this past March. Friday's bout was the second straight at Belasco Theatre for the Los Angeles rookie.

Super bantamweight rookie Pablo Rubio was given all that he could handle in a mini four-round war with Adrian Rodriguez. The 18-year old Rubio struggled at times with the much shorter Rodriguez, but in the end was able to get past the durable clubfighter from Guadalaraja, Mexico. Scores were 38-38 even, and 39-37 and 40-36 in favor of Rubio (3-0, 2KOs) who goes the distance for the first time in his young career.
