WBA/WBO super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux and his team were very pleased with the statement made by Oscar De La Hoya to BoxingScene.com, saying that he wants to match the Cuban in a unification fight with his fighter Leo Santa Cruz who holds the WBC super bantamweight title.

Rigondeaux has been calling out Santa Cruz for years and is very pleased that Santa Cruz's promoter is also behind the unification fight.

"Rigo has wanted this fight for years. He is very happy with what Oscar said. We want the fight. His promoter wants the fight and the fans want the fight. Now Leo just needs to step up and say he wants the fight," Louis Fonseca, Vice President of Caribe Promotions told BoxingScene.com.
