Frank Espinoza, the manager of undefeated Carlos Molina, was surprised to read a recent interview on BoxingScene.com, where former champion Amir Khan (26-3, 18KOs) was discussing a potential fight with Kell Brook in 2013. Molina (17-0-1, 7KOs) takes a major step by fighting Khan on December 15 at the LA Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California.
Molina is a heavy underdog in the Showtime televised main event, but Espinoza is confident that his boxer will hand Khan his third consecutive loss. Khan admits that a third consecutive defeat would make him consider the possibility retirement. The British superstar views this contest as a "must-win" situation for his career.
"Lamont Peterson softened him up, Danny Garcia knocked him out, and Carlos Molina will retire him. If he thinks Danny Garcia knocked him out, wait until Carlos Molina knocks him out. When we come to the ring, we are bringing out a stretcher because we want Amir to be comfortable when they take him to the back," Eszpinoza told BoxingScene.com.
