The camp of former champion Roman 'Rocky' Martinez (25-1, 16KOs) are still reviewing a submitted offer from Top Rank, regarding a potential fight with unbeaten Yuriorkis Gamboa (21-0, 16KOs) in the month of March. As previously reported, Martinez doesn't like the financial numbers and he may take another path, like a world title eliminator for a shot at the WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner.

"'Rocky Martinez is on the verge of a world title shot. We are analyzing the offer that Top Rank made to us to fight Yuriorkis Gamboa in the month of March. We are taking a look at the economic part to see whether or not we're going to do it. Otherwise, Rocky will fight in an eliminator, either for the IBF of the WBA title," said Martinez's promoter Ivan Rivera, President of Puerto Rico Best Boxing, to Carlos Rosario.
