Earlier this week, undefeated cruiserweight up and comer Ryan "The Outlaw" Coyne reached out to BoxingScene.com to issue a challenge to fellow undefeated prospect Lateef "Power" Kayode. Coyne was highly critical of Kayode's victory over Iannuzzi that took place last Friday on ShoBox. Kayode's manager Steven Feder of Standing Eight Management contaced BoxingScene to issue a response.
Both fighters are 16-0 and a clash between the two has been brewing for some time now. Feder doesn't feel that The St. Louis native has the power or the experience needed to defeat his client.
Feder mocked Coyne's nickname when he told BoxingScene - "The Irish Outlaw? I think for a fighter who can't crack an egg unless his opponent is a member of AARP Coyne is sticking his neck out to swim in deep uncharted waters. For a guy who has never fought a single fighter of any merit he's got a lot of false confidence. Ryan, if you think fighting Warren Browning for a vacant USNBC belt prepared you for calling out Lateef Kayode you need to change your cellular carrier. They dropped a few calls and you dropped a few marbles in Missouri."
Feder feels that Coyne is the one with the weak resume and questions some of the decisions he has received. The California based manager is more than willing to match his fighter against Coyne and wants to formally issue a challenge. Feder told BoxingScene - "Coyne gets a split decision against Flamos in the Contender series? I don't know what song he uses for a ring walk, but his exit will be to Danny Boy. Tell him to call me, I'll book his flight to California. Let Don King show us the money and we'll show you what a 'fraud' feels like. If Kayode is a fraud, what the hell does that make Coyne? 13 fights in and he fights Kevin Bookout with a 2-0-0 record. He goes the distance with Jarret, Jennette, Carter! His record has more padding than a Sterns and Foster Mattress. Don King meet Gary Shaw. Outlaw meet Power. Ryan, you're from the 'Show Me State' huh, no problem, we'll show you."
