WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (43-2, 30 KOs) plans to have two professional fights in the first half of 2012. On February 18th in Munich, he defends the WBC crown against Dereck Chisora (15-2, 9 KOs). In the event of victory, Vitali could return to the ring as early as the end of May.
For his next contest, Vitali would like to fight former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, but the the two sides are very far apart on the financial terms.
"We do not know who Vitali's opponent is going to be [beyond Chisora]. We were negotiating with Haye, but most likely the fight [between Haye and] Vitali will never happen. Haye has 4-5 weeks to give us a definitive answer, otherwise we will start negotiations with other boxers," said Berndt Boente, manager of the Klitschko brothers.
