Michael Katsidis and his team have today ruled out Toowoomba as a possible location for his – first in 5 year bout for Australia - due to the risk associated with the weather.

Katsidis’s manager/trainer Brendon Smith today revealed that they looked at all options to hold it in “The Great’s” home town with none of them panning out “we looked at all options for Toowoomba, because of the uncertainty of weather around that time, we weren’t confident holding it outdoors, unfortunately there isn’t a big enough indoor area for us to hold it. We want the show to be a memorable one for the fans, not one that is rained out and cold, so we have decided to hold it indoors. The positive that has come out of this though, is we have done our research now for a potential summer return to Toowoomba, so it hasn’t been ruled out completely”.

Brisbane’s Boondal entertainment centre and the Gold Coast’s convention centre are the two options that remaining for the fight and Smith is confident that they will have a decision and announcement by the end of the week.
