#2 world rated and North American cruiserweight champion BJ Flores 27-1 (18 KOs) and members of his team were "staking out" in front of the Clark County Detention Center early this morning in honor of Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s fourth "Fighter of the Year" ESPY award that was announced last night. Team Flores was outside of the facility with bottles of non-alcoholic Martinellis in honor of Floyd to make a toast of congratulations to the pound for pound king.
"I want to congratulate Floyd Mayweather personally. Since I can't shake his hand I wanted to come over to the holding facility and stand out in front in honor of Floyd when my team and I make this toast. I never had a chance to meet Floyd until recently and not only is he a stand up guy, but he is a guy with a big heart and takes care of a lot of people. "
Flores continues.....
"Floyd is a special talent and an unbeleivable worker. Nobody has given him anything. He has earned everything the hard way."
"This is just a very small chapter in his life. I am sure when he finishes he will be right back to normal, spending time with his family and getting back to business in the ring . Floyd has put a solid team around him and that combined with his unbelievable talent and work ethic is what makes him so successful. I appreciate what he and the entire Team Mayweather has done for me. Since he can't celebrate this tremendous honor with his family and his team, we wanted wanted to bring the celebration to him."
