On Thursday BoxingScene.com broke the news that former two-division champion Devon Alexander (26-3, 14KOs) will return to the ring on September 18th against Aaron Martinez (19-4-1, 4KOs). The bout will likely be aired on Bounce TV and will be part of Al Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions series.

Alexander will look to bounce back from his December loss to Amir Khan against an opponent who many felt did enough to defeat Robert 'Ghost' Guerrero in June. Martinez dropped Guerrero in the 4th round of their bout at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. and lost a split decision. A single point separated the fight from being a draw.

Alexander's manager and trainer Kevin Cunningham is a little concerned about his fighter's 9 month layoff and said that they are taking Martinez very seriously.

"Ring rust is always a concern," Cunningham told BoxingScene.com. "We are taking this fight serious and Devon has to be on point because Martinez whooped Guerrero's ass in his last fight."

The rest of the televised PBC card and venue are expected to be announced in the near future.
