On February 6th at Beau Rivage Casino and Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi, Jermain Taylor defends his IBF middleweight title versus 'The Latin Snake' Sergio Mora. Waiting in the wings for the victor will be Hassan N'Dam, who defeated Curtis Stevens back in October in a final elimination bout.

"N'Dam is the mandatory challenger, however, Sam Soliman was the champion and he lost in an optional defense (to Taylor)," explained Lindsey Tucker, the Championship Chairman of the IBF, to BoxingScene.com on Monday. "Under the rules, the winner of that fight - which was Taylor - gets an additional six months."

Back on October 8th, Taylor outpointed Soliman to capture the belt. There was a window of time for Taylor to take another fight before fulfilling his mandatory.

Tucker continued - "which means on February 8th we are notifying Taylor or Mora - whoever wins between them - they must start negotiating with N'Dam for the mandatory."

But Tucker points out - "if Mora wins, he doesn't get any additional time. He has to go with Taylor's mandatory due date."
