Antonio Tarver (31-6, 22KOs) will battle Steve Cunningham (28-7, 13KOs) in a Premier Boxing Champions main event on Spike TV on August 14th  at the Prudential Center from Newark, NJ. It’s the cliché crossroads fight for the two as the winner may head to bigger things and the loser heads to uncertainty. Tarver knows this and is prepared to lay it all on the line.

“It’s two guys that you can’t make either one of us quit,” Tarver told BoxingScene.com “I see it as a real candidate for fight of the year because I know Steve’s going to come and bring it and he knows it could be his last chance. It could be his final opportunity and it could be mines too. So we’re going to let it all on the line in New Jersey at the Prudential Center, it’s going to be fun and a hell of a treat.”

Should he win, Tarver is eyeing the two giants with titles in the division, world champions Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder.

“I don’t know what’s next but if my hand is raised, you know I’m ready for anything,” stated Tarver. Hopefully after this fight, I want one of them guys with a strap around their waist whether it’s Klitschko or Wilder, I’m ready for all them guys. I’m ready to take one of those guys and shock the world.”

Marco Huck is fighting on the same card and has once flirted with the division. Tarver feels Huck isn’t coming to heavyweight any time soon.

“Marco’s a cruiserweight, we tried to get it on with him years ago. He ain’t want no part of it. Marco Huck ain’t big enough, I’m looking for the ultimate prize, and that’s the Heavyweight Championship”
