Former champion and Premier Boxing Champions expert analyst, Antonio Tarver, says Andre Berto should come in with an all-out attack on Floyd Mayweather Jr. when they battle for the WBC/WBA welterweight titles on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Fans are not happen with the match, because Berto is viewed as a significant underdog in the contest. He's 3-3 in his last six bouts and the oddsmakers have Mayweather listed as a huge favorite - some of them have him at 80-1 to win.
Showtime Pay-Per-View will carry the four fight event.
"Lets hope that the fight lives up to the billing. Berto can fight over his head and do something great in the fight, make it an entertaining fight. He’s got nothing to lose, everybody is already writing him off against Mayweather, so go balls to the wall and fight your fight. You never know what can happen," Tarver told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.
Tarver says Mayweather, because of his 19-years in the business, will get static from the critics regardless of what he does and he would have received criticism for anyone he would have selected for the match.
"With Floyd, he’s the king of boxing, he does what he wants to do. He decides who he wants to pick and then he picks them. They’ve paid him before, they ain’t gonna stop paying him, so he’s deserved his position," Tarver said.
