Takashi Uchiyama-Jorge Solis Postponed Due To Illness

WBA super featherweight champion Takashi Uchiyama (16-0, 13KOs) was scheduled to make the third defense of his title on January 10 at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo, Japan. The opponent, WBA-interim champion Jorge Solis (40-2-2, 29KOs) of Mexico, has withdrawn due to illness. The promoters are hoping to schedule the event to late January or February. It's being reported that Solis has pneumonia.

The co-feature will also be rescheduled. Ryol Li Lee (17-1, 8KOs) was going make the first defense of the WBA super bantamweight title against Akifumi Shimoda (22-2, 10KOs). The first fight for Lee since October's upset win over Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym.
