WBC super featherweight champion Takashi Miura, wants WBC featherweight champion Johnny Gonzalez to be his 5th Mexican rival in a row. Takashi won his title against Gamaliel "Platano" Díaz, in Tokyo Japan, and the he has successfully defended it against an army of tough Mexican contenders - Sergio Thompson, Dante Jardon and Edgar Puerta.

Gonzalez has already been discussing the possibility of moving up in weight to challenge Miura (28-2-2, 21 KO´s) for his title.

Regarding the idea of that fight, Miura stated: “I want to fight against the best. Of course I am interested fighting against him. He is a great champion."
