Former WBC junior lightweight champion Vitali Tajbert withdrew from his position as mandatory position for EBU king Ermanno Fegatilli from Belgium. A purse bid was scheduled earlier today in Rome, but it was canceled as Tajbert is suffering from a hand injury and gunning for another world title shot later in the year.
The new mandatory challenger for Fegatilli is Italian boxer Devis Boschiero. The EBU have set April 17 as the deadline for purse bids or agreement.
Boschiero, 27-1-1, lost his last fight, a shot at WBC ruler Takahiro Aoh but beat Fegatilli, 25-4, back in 2006 in a IBF Youth title fight.
