The exciting clash between Swedish welterweight Karlo Tabaghua and ex-French champion Franck Harroche Horta, that was set for Burgdorf in Switzerland on October 15, is now off. This matchup was worthy of a lot more than being hidden away in a six-round off-TV bout, and why it was made appears more than a little bit strange. Either way, Tabaghua and his team now claim to have a bigger fight in sight and will they take a tuneup before that.
 
The KB-Hall in Copenhagen burnt down earlier in this week. Built in 1938, it became the scene for a number of sporting events, concerts and professional boxing shows. All of the Danish greats, well, Nordic greats, fought here at one time or another and the atmosphere was great and helped by huge sales of beer and alcohol - and as long as smoking was allowed you had to cut your way through the air. Chris Christensen, Tom Bogs, Borge Krogh, Ayub Kalule, Jorgen Hansen, Hans Henrik Palm, Bo Hogberg, Steffen Tangstad, Tarmo Uusivirta, Anders Eklund, Gert Bo Jacobsen, Brian Nielsen, Mads Larsen and Mikkel Kessler all fought in this venue.
 
Swedish super middleweight Badou Jack, 7-0 and fighting out of Las Vegas, will return on October 21 at the MGM Grand Theatre in Mashantucket, CT. No opponent has been set.
 
Danish promoter and manager Robert Larsen has announced his retirement after a controversial career that included a personal bankrupcy. Larsen staged a few shows in 2008 and returned earlier this year. Wherever Robert went, there was a constant flow of allegations, and counter allegations, regarding who was paid and who wasn't - and some of these affairs still linger.

Caramelito Promotions in Finland staged their biggest show yet last Saturday night in Vasa with 500 tickets sold and heavyweight Janne Katajisto winning the national and BBU titles with a seventh round stoppage of Petter Antman. Caramelito returns with one fight on December 15, also in Vasa, at a school where promoter Markus Lammi works as a teacher.
