At Leisure Centre in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, Gary Sykes (15-0, 4 KOs) won a close twelve round decision over Andy Morris (18-3, 6 KOs). The scores were 115-114, 115-114 and 116-114. Sykes picks up the BBBofC British super featherweight title with the win.

Morris used his boxing skills in the early rounds to land calculated but Sykes never backed off and stayed in there, more than willing to go toe to toe. Many of the rounds were close with both fighters landing good shots during the contest. Sykes landed more of the eye catching punches and his defense and movement were on full display in the contest.

"It was very tough," Sykes told Sky Sports. "Andy used clever tactics and he worked me hard. I need to polish things in the gym but now I've got the title I will go full time in the gym and you will see a different me next time. We have put a lot of hard work, it is team effort and my team really deserve it."

In the co-feature, heavyweight Tyson Fury stopped German boxer Hans-Joerg Blasko in the first round. Fury, now 10-0, scored two knockdowns before the contest was stopped by the referee.
