FORMER Oriental Pacific Boxing Federation super featherweight champion Randy Suico has shown he is ready to go after the World Boxing Association lightweight title of undefeated Juan Diaz by decking World Boxing Council’s no. 4-ranked Urbano Antillon of the United States during a workout in Las Vegas.

The Mexican-born Antillon is undefeated with a record of 17-0, with 10 knockouts and is 23 years old.

Rex “Wakee” Salud will travel to Las Vegas with Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao on Thursday. In a telephone conversation with Viva Sports/Standard Today, Pacquiao said he hopes to give moral support to Suico and help boost his confidence.

Salud said Suico is in fine shape and has a very good chance of winning the title fight against Diaz, who is a good boxer but lacks a big punch.

Suico is known to have power in either hand and his dropping Antillon in sparring was a clear indication of his ability to hit hard, which Salud hopes will create problems for the 22-year-old Diaz. Salud said Suico had also looked impressive in sparring with former world champion Carlos “Famoso” Hernandez and was in very good shape.
