Nino Suelo has lost in his bid to wrest the Pan Asia Boxing Association flyweight title from Thai veteran Denkaosan Kaovichit who retained his crown via a unanimous decision at the Thurakitbandit University in Bangkok.

Suelo battled the 30 year old Thai champion on even terms in the early rounds before the experience of Denkaosan who is ranked No.2 in the world by the WBA began to tell as he counter-punched effectively against the Filipino challenger.

All three judges scored it for the champion. One judge had Denkaosan winning by a shutout 120-108 while the two other judges also had it by lopsided scores of 119-109 and 119-110 for the Thai who improved to 35-1 with 15 knockouts while Suelo dropped to 10-12-1. It was Denkaosan’s tenth successful title defense.

In a supporting bout Filipino Rick Paciones who was coming off a first round KO at the hands of Kompayak Porpramook last March 29 this time suffered a second round knockout against Asia Boxing Council No.1 super flyweight Sairung Singwancha. The end came at 1:05 of the second round . Sairung has a record of 42-8 with 26 KO’s.
