Felix Sturm (32-2-1, 14 KOs) made it look easy at the KönigPALAST in Krefeld, Germany. Sturm retained his WBA middleweight champion with little trouble against the very inexperienced and previously unbeaten Koji Sato (14-1, 13 KOs), stopping the Japanese fighter in the seventh round after handing out a pure beating in the fight.

Sturm used his moneypunch, the jab, often and was very sharp getting off with his punches. He hit and hurt Sato often, and around the fifth it was very clear that Sturm was going to end the fight by knockout. The ref stopped the action in the seventh after Sturm appeared to be landing all of his punches at will.
