WBO middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz has disputed some of the recent comments that were printed in the German publication Bild. Stieglitz (37-2, 23KOs) says the reporter from Bild was exaggerating his comments to start a rift with Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25KOs). In the Bild report, Stieglitz was quoted as saying - "Arthur Abraham is a hyped fictional character" - an attack on Abraham's record and "King" nickname. Stieglitz does not deny his desire to fight Arthur in a big event in Germany.

"I was recently approached by a journalist, but he did not say who he was with. He asked me about Arthur Abraham and I told him Arthur was the biggest name at the weight. The other stuff [the journalist] artificially inflated. The journalist clearly exaggerated my words," Stieglitz told to publicationTrud.

"Yes, I am eager to strike swords with Arthur. And, of course, out of all of the possible contenders at the moment, Abraham is the most coveted. And as far as which of us is stronger, it will be determined with a fight and not from all of the "analysis" from the journalists who consider themselves great experts."

Stieglitz gave his thoughts on Abraham's last fight with Andre Dirrell. King Arthur was disqualified in the eleventh round when he struck Dirrell while he was down from a slip.

"I carefully looked at that fight. At the time of disqualification, Abraham was losing on points. In the midst of fight, Dirrell slipped and almost fell, and Arthur leaned over and struck him, while Dirrell was on a knee. As a boxer, I understand the mind state of Abraham. During an attack, it's not always possible to immediately stop yourself when an official gives you the signal to do so. In any event the end result was the correct one," Stieglitz said.
