The junior middleweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Miguel Cotto, and has a well-lanned strategy to beat his next opponent, Ricardo Mayorga, by combining intelligence and power. Cotto will defend against Mayorga on March 12 in Las Vegas. Emanuel Steward, the trainer of Cotto, said intelligence and the power in the Puerto Rican boxer's fists will be the keys to victory.

"To beat Ricardo Mayorga you have to fight with intelligence to take him out of his rhythm. Miguel will be able to connect with every punch. This is the game plan. We are not going to give him a chance to develop a pace in the fight. We're going to stay on the outside, where he's going to fail every time that he tries to connect," Steward said to Gus Ampudia.
