Aaron and Stevie McKenna have teamed up with one of the most respected and well known trainers on the planet.

The Los Angeles-based Irish siblings have joined the famous Wild Card Gym and will work under Freddie Roach moving forward.

Robert Garcia, a former Trainer of the Year, had been working with the duo previously, but they have now enlisted the guidance of the 59-year-old due to the fact that the Wild Card is closer to their base.

They were making a 200-kilometre round trip to Riverside and Garcia’s gym, three times a week, while Roach’s setting is just 25 minutes away.

Roach is most noted for his work with Manny Pacquiao of late, but has worked with 41 world champions, though some of that number achieved the status post working with the Massachusetts man, who was himself a fighter who campaigned at featherweight, super-featherweight and lightweight.

The McKennas join the gym with more momentum and strong management, being looked after by Sheer Management, and no doubt will be pushed towards world title success.

The younger of the two, Aaron, 20, has already hit double figures in terms of wins and has stood out on Golden Boy undercards, while 23-year-old Stevie has come out of the blocks firing, having registered four knockout wins in as many fights.

Details regarding their next fights will be revealed in due course.
