WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson was unimpressed with Sergey Kovalev's HBO televised win on Saturday night from the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Kovalev had it rough, with cuts suffered above both eyes by a very defense fighter, but he knocked out previously unbeaten Cedric Agnew with a bodyshot that set him down for the count.

HBO was building a Stevenson-Kovalev bout for most of 2013, but earlier this week the fight took a turn for the worse with Stevenson agreeing to head over to rival network Showtime for his upcoming fight in May.

Kovalev called Stevenson a "piece of sh*t" on HBO and the verbal shot generated a fiery reaction from Stevenson.

"Slow with no defense! When Kovalev fights me, he will stay at the hospital and mama Duva will come see him. Kovalev, tell your mama Kathy Duva to stop crying and to call Yvon Michel and Al Haymon to make the fight happen! Krusher Kovalev, you are just a real slow bum with no defense. Easy work. In due time I will beat your sorry ass! You are an easy work and tell Tarzan to show how to move your big ugly head! You can't fight for sh*t," Stevenson stated on the social networks.
