BoxingScene.com caught up with WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis "Superman" Stevenson and his representative Rudy Pierre-Louis shortly after the press conference to announce the title fight between WBA/WBO/IBF light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev and former champion Jean Pascal. During the press conference Pascal claimed that Kovalev is the "real" light heavyweight champion and that their March 14th showdown would be the toughest fight of his career.
Stevenson said that he has no problem fighting the winner next and that he believes that Kovalev will walk away with his hand raised.
"I believe that Jean Pascal is going to get his ass whooped by Sergey Kovalev," Stevenson told Boxingscene.com. "After he gets his ass whooped, them I will show Pascal how to whoop Sergey Kovalev's ass."
Pierre-Louis took another shot at Pascal when he added, "This is boxing. Anything can happen. Pascal could always land an illegal punch like he did versus (Roberto) Bolonti," in reference to the no-contest in their December 6th fight after Pascal hit Bolonti on the break.
Stevenson's representative finished our conversation by saying that Pascal should concentrate on the Kovalev fight and stop running his mouth.
"He's jealous. This is a guy who doesn't have any knockouts at light heavyweight. Stevenson is knocking out (almost) everyone man. It's plain and simple, would you pay money to see Jean Pascal or Adonis Stevenson?" Pierre-Louis told BoxingScene.com.
