Stephen Foster Jr. will challenge for the British super featherweight title - if he can beat Yauheni Kruhlik on Saturday.
The 31-year-old from Salford (28-3-1 18KOs) will fight the winner of Gary Buckland's March 24 title defence against Paul Truscott if he can dispose of the Belarussian (10-13-3 2KOs) in a six-round clash on the undercard of Scott Quigg's clash with Jamie Arthur at Bolton's Reebok Stadium.
The fight is Foster's first since he suffered a shock points defeat by Ermano Fegatilli in February 2011 which cost him his European title.
"This is a very important fight for Foster Jr," promoter Ricky Hatton told the Manchester Evening News.
"He was on the crest of a wave winning the European title but, after being in such great form, he lost against Fegatilli.
"There were rumours of illness surrounding the loss but if he bounces back with a win in Bolton I expect to match him against the winner of Buckland-Truscott, giving him a chance to win the British title."
