Errol Spence Jr. suffered serious injuries in a car accident early Thursday morning in Dallas.

According to a story posted on CBS DFW, the unbeaten IBF/WBC welterweight champion is in an intensive care unit at a Methodist Dallas Medical Center. Spence, 29, is expected to survive.

Dallas police reported Spence crashed while driving a white Ferrari at approximately 3 a.m. CDT.

Spence was driving at a high rate of speed on Riverfront Boulevard, near downtown Dallas. His car flipped over at least five times once he lost control of it.

Spence was not wearing a seatbelt. Dallas police stated that he was ejected from the vehicle.

Tim Smith, a spokesman for Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions, confirmed to BoxingScene.com that Spence’s injuries aren’t life-threatening. Smith said Spence’s parents are with him at the hospital and that more details on Spence’s condition will become available later Thursday.

Spence (26-0, 21 KOs), of nearby DeSoto, Texas, is one of boxing’s biggest stars. The 2012 U.S. Olympian most recently beat Shawn Porter by split decision in a welterweight title unification fight September 28 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The strong southpaw’s 12-round win over Porter is widely considered a strong candidate for “Fight of the Year” in 2019.

Porter sent this Tweet regarding Spence’s accident: My dad always tells me “this boxing thing is a part of your life, but it’s not going to last forever. U still have a lot of life to live after that.” With that, I’m praying for @ErrolSpenceJr & his family because he has a lot of life to live and I pray he recovers quickly & fully.

Terence Crawford, the WBO welterweight champion virtually every boxing fan wants to see Spence fight, also offered his support through social media.

Crawford issued this Tweet: Praying for you champ @ErrolSpenceJr get well we fighters I know you will.
