A ton of emotions began flowing through Errol Spence Jr., none more than pure rage.

His boxing career has always been dedicated to not just winning a world title but to grabbing them all. Kell Brook allowed the Dallas native to get the ball rolling, stopping him for his IBF crown in 2017. Shawn Porter and Yordenis Ugas played their parts as well.

The mission was nearly completed for the IBF, WBA, and WBC champion. All that was left was a date with Terence Crawford. That, of course, proved to be his downfall. Just a few short weeks ago, the 33-year-old was brutally stopped at the hands of the Nebraska native. Now, with all three of his titles in the hands of another man, Spence (28-1, 22 KOs) succinctly expressed how he felt.

"I’m pissed,” said Spence on Showtime Sports.

Having been a pro for over a decade now, the normally durable southpaw has experienced what it’s like to be on top of the boxing world. It wasn’t that long ago when everything appeared to be going right. Not only was the former Olympian a three-belt champion but he was also considered a pound-for-pound star, and an undefeated freak of physical nature.

Stripping a fighter of their flawless record is something Spence has done in the past. In 2018, the former titlist easily stopped Carlos Ocampo in the first round, handing him the first defeat of his career. One year later, Spence did it again, this time against Mikey Garcia.

Before facing Crawford, Spence had no idea what it felt like to get into a professional fistfight and come out on the losing end. But, as he sat despondently on his metal chair in the back room of T-Mobile Arena, Spence allowed his failure to soak in.

From sadness to anger, Spence won't remain in the dark with his head held down for long. Now, with his record imperfect, all he can think about is his get back.

“So this is how it feels? We gotta do that again man.”
