Phongsaphon Panyakum continued to develop Saturday against a veteran opponent in Bang Phun, Thailand.

The 20-year-old, 115-pound prospect out-pointed fellow Thai super flyweight Karoon Jarupianlerd in their 10-round fight on the Srisaket Sor Rungvisai-Kwanthai Sithmorseng undercard. DAZN streamed their fight live from Workpoint Studio, just outside of Bangkok.

Panyakum’s pressure and activity was too much Jarupianlerd. Panyakum (12-1, 6 KOs) defeated Jarupianlerd (44-11, 20 KOs) comfortably on all three scorecards (98-92, 98-92 and 97-93).

Panyakum pressured Jarupianlerd throughout their fight and forced Jarupianlerd to fight off his back foot. He regularly landed overhand rights, left hooks and right uppercuts, but he wasn’t powerful enough to hurt Jarupianlerd, who displayed a good chin.

Jarupianlerd occasionally landed counter punches that kept Panyakum honest as he stalked the durable Jarupianlerd. None of those punches prevented Panyakum pressing forward and controlling the action.

The 35-year-old Jarupianlerd has lost by knockout only twice in his 11-year pro career. One of those knockout defeats came against IBF/WBA bantamweight champ Naoya Inoue (20-0, 17 KOs), who knocked him out in the 10th round of their September 2016 bout in Zama, Japan.

Panyakum has won 12 straight fights since he was knocked out in the second round of his pro debut by Kai Ishizawa (7-1, 7 KOs) in June 2017.

In the first fight DAZN streamed Friday night, light flyweight Danai Ngiabphukhiaw knocked down Wichet Sengprakhon three times on his way to a third-round stoppage in a scheduled six-round bout.

Ngiabphukhiaw (8-2, 4 KOs) floored Sengprakhon (11-10, 6 KOs) once toward the end of the second round and twice in the third round.

Ngiabphukhiaw knocked out Sengprakhon in a second straight fight. The 21-year-old Ngiabphukhiaw knocked out the 33-year-old Sengprakhon in the first round December 5, also at Workpoint Studio.
