Fresh from his revenge win over Danny Williams at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, British heavyweight Matt Skelton says that he is more than capable of beating WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev.
Promoter Frank Warren promised the winner of the Williams-Skelton rematch a crack at the seven-foot Russian champion.
"Valuev is a big fellow. I'd have to train a certain way to beat him and I'm not saying I'd want to fight toe to toe with him but he is beatable," Valuev said.
Warren is still aiming to stage the fight on British soil and targeting several dates in December for the scrap.
There is still talk of Valuev defending his title in New York's Madison Square Garden in September. Monte Barrett appears to be a leading opponent candidate for Valuev's splash on New York.
