Thailand’s WBC minimumweight champion Oleydong Sithsamerchai will defend his title against Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation champion Yasutaka Kuroki in Japan on March 27.
The 28 year old Kuroki with a record of 23-3-1 with 15 knockouts is ranked No. 3 by the WBC and No.1 by the WBA.
He won the OPBF title with a unanimous twelve round decision over Toshikazu Waga on November 16, 2008 and in his last fight on February 1, 2010 scored a 6th round TKO over Takumi Suda.
According to Siam Sport, the fight will be held at the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo.
Oleydong Sithsamerchai who is only 24 years old is undefeated with a record of 30-0 with 12 knockouts and is one of Thailand's most skilled boxers.
Oleydong won the world title with a unanimous twelve round decision over Japan-based Thai Eagle Kyowa whose real name is Den Janlaphan on November 29, 2007.
Oleydong has successfully defended his title four times, the last being a close majority decision over Juan Palacios of Nicaragua on November 27, 2009.
On the same fight card WBC flyweight champion Koki Kameda will fight former champion and current interim title holder, veteran Pongsaklek Wonjongkam.
