Three of the top fighters from Nakorn Luang promotions were in action in Pathum Thani this afternoon and all of them registered comfortable victories including former WBC 115 lbs world champion and current #1 contender Srisaket Sor Rungvisai.

Sisaket (40-4-1) is simply staying busy while he waits for a second shot at reigning WBC 115 champion Carlos Cuadras and he stopped unknown Thai super flyweight Detrit Sitlekpet (0-1) after scoring multiple knockdowns in the third round

Pongsaklek Sithdabnij (9-3-1) extended his winning streak to nine and successfully defended his WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental 108 lbs title after an uninspiring decision win over Filipino journeyman Roque Lauro (13-18-5).

Lauro spent much of the fight backtracking but was still elusive enough to avoid the telegraphed power punches of the champion. Pongsaklek (pictured) seemed to believe he could finish the fight with one big shot but never really troubled the Filipino.

In the third round both fighters exchanged some fierce punches at close quarters but it proved to be the best action of the entire fight. With Pongsaklek's lead revealed by the WBC's open scoring Lauro looked increasingly like a man who was content to lose by decision.

Pongsaklek tried to pick up the pace with a series of body shots in the eighth but Lauro just smiled, although a left hook in the following round seemed to briefly buckle the legs of the Filipino.

With Pongsaklek having been comfortable ahead at the end of the eighth there was no sense of suspense as the scorecards were tallied. All three judges scored it 118-110 for the 23 year old who has turned his career around after losing his first three fights.

Pongsaklek's most notable victory was over Kongfah Nakornluag last year. Going into that fight he had a record of 2-1-3, while his opponent was 22-0 but he upset the odds with a decision win after six rounds.

Kongfah (27-1) was back in action this afternoon and looked like he had a point to prove. The 24 year old set about Fahpetch Singmanassak (1-1) in the early exchanges of this six round fight but couldn't get the stoppage and had to settle for a decision win.
