Tepic, Nayarit - The final press conference for "Summer of Champions" nearly came to blows when the Mexican challenger Alberto "Topo" Rosas grew tired of hearing threats from the champion Simphiwe Nongqayi and challenged him in front of the media the media.

 

Immediately, the South African Nongqayi dropped his microphone and went for Rosas, but immediately people from both camps got between them and things calmed down amid shouts and threats.

This Saturday, South African Simphiwe "Golden Master" Nongqayi (16-0-1, 7 KOs) will defend his super flyweight of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) against local here Alberto "Topo" Rosas (31-5, 25 KOs) in the fight at the Palenque de la Feria of Tepic, Nayarit.

In the second international match, the popular and triple world champion Jorge "Travieso" Arce faces former universal champion Martin "Gallito" Castillo in a ten round bantamweight bout.

"Summer of Champions" is promoted by Zanfer Promotions and the Government of the State of Nayarit and is part of series "Top Rank Live" and will be broadcast in the United States by Fox Sports Espanol and in Mexico by TV Azteca in "Box Azteca "the house of boxing.

"I hope you come in good physical condition because you'll just want to run, you've messed with the most sacred thing and that's my family. I'll give you the beating of your life. You say age does not count and but you are going to see that it counts a lot," Rosas said as the champion taunted him.

Simphiwe Nongqayi was very sharp when he referred to his Mexican challenger.

"I can knock him out in any round that I want, even in the first round, but I want to beat him up to work towards it," Nongqayi said.  "I trained very well so I do not think this kid can really hold onto experience and my age won't matter. This is why they will not recognize Rosas after the fight at home."
