As a preventive measure, Eye of the Tiger Management is modifying their upcoming card presented at Hotel Rimouski on November 21.
Simon Kean (19-1, 18 KOs) vs. Stan Surmacz (12-1, 7 KOs) is being pulled from the card, due to an injury to Kean's left hand that occurred on Saturday, November 7th, during a training session in preparation for this contest.
"We are disappointed to have to withdraw this promising fight where both boxers had great training camps for this championship bout. Simon Kean suffered what is known as the boxer's injury during intense training last Saturday. Simon will be back in the ring early next year, however," said EOTTM’s President Camille Estephan.
This event, presented by La Queen beer and Mise-O-Jeu, will therefore move forward with the remaining fights, with Yves Ulysse Jr. (18-2, 9 KOs) taking on Mathieu Germain (18-1-1, 8 KOs), as well as Steve Claggett (28-5-2, 18 KOs) who will face David Théroux (16-3, 11 KOs).
Additionally, Raphael Courchesne (8-0, 3 KOs) and Josh Wagner (6-0, 5 KOs) will put their perfect records on the line in what both fighters have promised to be a true war scheduled for six rounds.
Heavyweight Adam Dyczka (2-0, 1 KO.) will also be on this card as he makes his comeback against British Columbian Jaye Byard (0-1) in a four round duel.
