Reuters reports that Nikolai Valuev's court battle with Yuri Sergeyev is over. Sergeyev, a 61-year-old security guard, sued Valuev after the two were involved in a scuffle two-years ago outside a St Petersburg sports complex in January 2006. A city court fined Valuev 30,000 roubles ($1,228) and ordered him to pay 100,000 roubles in compensation.
Sergeyev was claiming that Valuev (7'1, 325-pounds) caused serious injuries by punching him out in a parking lot. Valuev, the former WBA heavyweight champion, says that he never punched Sergeyev and was simply trying to "shake him off" after the two exchanged words over Sergeyev insulted Valuev's wife.
"Just imagine what would have happened to that old man if I really punched him," Valuev.
