Former bantamweight champion Wladimir Sidorenko (21-2, 7KOs) will make his return on August 28 against Mbwana Matumla (19-4, 11KOs) at Independence Square in Kiev, Ukraine. Sidorenko will be returning from two straight decision defeats to Anselmo Moreno. He will move down a division to challenge for the vacant WBC International Silver super flyweight title.
Sidorenko was in California working with hall of fame trainer Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym. Roach will work with Sidorenko in the future. There is talk that Sidorenko has two promotional agreements in his hands. One of those agreements came from the office of Don King. Sidorenko refused to reveal the name of the person who made the other promotional offer.
Sidorenko has many good wins on his record, including decisions over Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym, two draws with Ricardo Cordoba and a win over Joseph Agbeko.
