Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz informs BoxingScene.com that Johnreil Casimero (21-2, 13KOs) will be guaranteed a crack at the IBF flyweight championship in 2015.
Current IBF champion Amnat Ruenroeng (14-0, 5KOs) will defend his belt against two-time Olympic gold medal winner Zou Shiming (6-0, 1KO) on March 7th at the Cotai Arena in Macau, China.
The IBF will order the winner of Shiming-Ruenroeng to begin negotiations for a mandatory fight with Casimero on April 10th.
"Technically Casimero did not step aside. Simply put, we had no objection to the fight because Casimero's mandatory shot is not due until April. But once the IBF's informs everyone to begin the negotiations in April, we plan to aggressively pursue Casimero's shot at the title," Lewkowicz told BoxingScene.com.
