Promoter Gary Shaw agreed with almost everything that boxing manager Frank Espinoza had to say in an earlier news brief about the upcoming featherweight bout between Israel Vazquez and Rafael Marquez. The fourth meeting between the two Mexican rivals will take place on May 22 at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Espinoza predicts a great fight with a knockout win by Vazquez.
"The fights between Israel and Rafael have been very tough, exciting, and hence the people have asked for another one. There will another war in this fight and Israel will win again," Espinoza told ESTO. "Rafael is an excellent fighter, a good boxer, hits hard with both hands and has a good jab."
"Of course [there will be a knockout], in favor of Israel. I feel that the public will see another great match because in the ring there will be two warriors in the ring."
Shaw agrees with Espinoza, to an extent.
"I agree with almost everything Frank had to say, including how great the last fights were, and how great this fight will be, except the only way Vasquez knocks out Marquez, is if he picks up his stool at the end of the round and hits Marquez over the head, and I'm not sure Vasquez is strong enough to lift the stool even then. Marquez by KO at end of 4," Shaw said to BoxingScene.com.
