As reported a few days ago, former WBO heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs arrived in the UK and he's hunting down former two division king David Haye, who returns to the ring on May 21 against an unnamed opponent.
The controversial Briggs is known for his crazy antics when it comes to stalking his potential opponents.
He spent a better part of two years hunting after Wladimir Klitschko. Briggs crashed press conference in several countries, media events, and even showed up at a restaurant as Klitschko had lunch in Florida.
Briggs has been hunting for Haye in the streets. He also claims to have purchased a one-way ticket and may not return to the United States until he secures a major fight in the UK. A showdown with Haye, on May 21, is at the top of his list.
He claims to have searched far and wide, and that Haye has gone into hiding to avoid a confrontation. Briggs started traveling all over the UK, from city to city, walking the streets and crashing several gyms while trying to his best to lure Haye into the streets.
Like Briggs, Haye returned to the ring earlier this year after a layoff of nearly four years. He too wants to secure a world title shot. A fight with Briggs will certainly bring him a lot of attention, a lot more than his January return bout with Mark De Mori.
Briggs told Sky Sports: "I can't find him nowhere, been everywhere, you name it. Brighton, Knightsbridge - all over the place - Sheffield, Essex, Manchester - man you name it. Castles, I'm looking for him everywhere. I think he's afraid, terrified. I came here on a one-way ticket and I'm not leaving empty-handed."
