In a few short weeks, Shannon Briggs (51-5-1, 45 KOs), nicknamed, "The Cannon," and riding a streak of three consecutive first-round knockouts, will get another shot at the title on Oct. 16 opposite 39-year-old, nearly 6-8 WBC king Vitali Klitschko (40-2, 38 knockouts). Another heavyweight has also been on Briggs' mind.

WBA heavyweight champion David Haye took shots at Klitschko for his decision to fight Briggs. Haye thinks the fight is a joke, and took a few shots that were directly aimed at Briggs, including a few jabs about his asthma condition. Briggs, should he beat Klitschko, wants Haye in the worst possible way. According to Briggs, a fight with Haye was discussed a few months ago, but the British boxer showed no interest.

"David Haye disrespected me, but to all of those other people. It just shows you how much of a coward David Haye is. I wanted to fight David Haye before the Klitschkos stepped up to the plate. But David Haye didn't jump up to the opportunity to fight me because he knew that he would get his a** whupped," Briggs said.
